Senior Spotlight: Mahler Meyerrose

Cheerful, outgoing and thoughtful. Mahler has contributed so much to this team on and off the ice. She has been a wonderful captain and her positive spirit makes it fun to come to the rink every day.

On the ice she has really stepped up her game this winter – helping fill the void left by 5 very talented graduation losses. She competes hard all over the ice. Good speed, willingness to drive to the net hard, and a killer shot make her a threat to score every time she is on the ice. She may have the best one timer on the team.

Mahler sets a great example for her teammates by working hard and pushing herself to improve. Hard worker, gives 100% in every practice and game. Very physical and strong player, especially tough along the boards and in front of the net

Has perhaps the strongest stick on the team when battling for a loose puck.

Excellent wrist and slap shots.

Caring and positive person who supports her teammates on and off the ice.

Strong leadership skills, she has helped set a positive and inspiring tone in the locker room and on the bench.

A “middle of the bus” person who can move backward or forward depending on the situation.

Mahler is such a kind and caring person. She makes others feel comfortable which makes her approachable and a strong leader. On the ice she is hardworking and strong. You can always count on Mahler to win a 1 on 1 battle in the corner. It’s those “little things” that Mahler takes care of that set an example for the rest of the team, and end up making a far larger difference than any gorgeous play. (Although she sneaks those in every once in a while too… *Andover* )

Always has a positive attitude, and includes everyone. A digger for the puck and comes out with it in tough battles. Has improved on her shot a lot and gives great tips that help the team come together.

Warm and friendly. You’re a great leader and I feel like I can talk to you about anything.

She drives me everywhere and I’m go to her with everything she is an amazing friend and player.

Mahler is very strong and can gain control of the puck from anyone. She is also a great role model and captain for this team.

Mahler is a great team player. She’s always there to talk to.

Always nice and is fun to be around. On the ice she plays a great game. She is very devoted to the team. I loved getting to know her over the season.

You’ll never see Mahler without a smile on her face. She’s always super positive and encouraging on the bench, in the locker room, and in school. I’ve loved having Mahler on my team and can’t wait to see what she’ll do in the future!

Really tough, works really hard, awesome goofy and positive captain, always smiling, easy to talk to.

Mahler is also a great captain and is always the one to encourage people and congratulate people during games and practice. Also she keeps everyone accountable for doing the best they can do.

A great captain that taught me not only about hockey, but also about being a better person.
