Team Commitment, Values, Tradition Emphasized at Season Kick Off Meeting

The annual parent player intro meeting for HHS girls ice hockey. So much time together and commitment to team goals  makes for a strong feeling of family, year after year.

Honor the tradition! So much history behind those few simple words. Those who have been on the team, and their parents, understand the value and special meaning of those team calling card words. The program is the first sanctioned, publicly funded girls high school ice hockey team in the country.

Players- Returning players and 8 new to the HHS girls ice hockey scene (Welcome to them!), and parents gathered tonight for the annual  season’s introductory informational meeting.

Coach Dodds, supported by assistant coach Drew, and captains Mahler Meyerrose and Maddie Lyons outlined the history and expectations for the team.

Hard work in practice, every time.  Compete.  Commitment on and off the ice.  Academics are a priority! Community volunteerism.  This is a special team with a long history of excellence on many levels.    At the end of the season- better players, but importantly, also, better people. This is the tradition.

The girls were also congratulated on two scrimmage successes and strong early play vs. Essex and BFA.

There is much work ahead. Get ready! Final scrimmage is away,  vs. Spaulding on Wednesday, 12/7 at 3:30 PM, Bor Arena in Barre, VT. First game at Oyster River, Tuesday December 13 at 5:00 PM.
