Lake Placid Practice at Herb Brooks Arena
Today began as the bus left HHS at 9AM for Lake Placid. The team arrived in time to allow for lunch (mostly crepes) and ambling in groups about this beautiful lakeside (hockey) town which was host to the 1932 and 1980 Olympics (“Miracle on Ice”). Practice started at 5:15; an hour that passed quickly with drills on Olympic Ice. The team finished practice by honoring the tradition, with their rhythmic tapping of sticks and serpentine skate ritual followed by the MAROON CRUSH chant en masse at center ice with sticks raised. All the girls gathered for photos to seal the day’s heady Olympic Ice experience for future memories.
What a great way to get fired up for the rest of January and February!
