Marauders fall to colonials in hard fought contest

Facing one of the top teams in Massachusetts d1 hockey, the marauders had their hands full with the speed and quickness of their opponent. A sluggish start left a 3-0 deficit after period one. Hanover shook off their bus legs, scoring early in the second period. The battle continued even until a power play turned the score to 4-1 at the end of the second. The marauders came on in the third even faster with aggressive forechecking, stingy defense and goal tending. Persistence payed off with a power play goal to bring the score to 4-2. Hanover had many good scoring opportunities and were dominant for the last half of the period. An empty net goal in the final ten seconds sealed the score at 5-2. Despite the loss, it’s great to play tough competition and hone our game.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday January 25th at campion against local rival Lebanon.
