Oyster River. Monday, December 10 @ 7:30 PM at Oyster River

Foggy night at the Oyster River outdoor rink.

HHS down, 1-0 after one. Strike by freshman Eliza Laycock to put Hanover on the scoreboard in this first of the season game. Whoops and screams accompany second go ahead goal, 10 seconds after the first; Junior Caroline Howell this time makes the strike.

Matti Hartman notched a third for Hanover in the third period. The  final goal for Hanover in this opening league game  was tallied by  Eliza Laycock from fellow Varsity newcomer defenseman, Delia Nahabedian.   Defense was solid, with many shots from the point. Win in goal to Katie Fenton. Great team effort!

Win 4-1!

Many thanks to fans who travelled to witness the game, peering through squeegee-less glass, and for calling this webmaster with game details nearly goal by goal!

Way to go, Marauder team! An excellent effort to bring home the W!

T-2 days;  the Marauders skate the first game of  the NHIAA 2012-2013 Girls’ Ice Hockey season against the Bobcats of Oyster River at Durham’s Churchill Rink at Jackson’s Landing.  Weather should not be much of a factor for players or spectators at the open-sided outdoor rink as prediction is for a high of 53 and a low of 34. The roof on the outdoor rink will keep any rain off  players and  coaches.

While eleven teams are in NH D1Girls Ice Hockey competition, Hanover and Oyster River have the history to back up their team pre-season top contender positions.  Monday’s  match up will be the Marauder’s chance to avenge for last season’s away close one.

As championships are won at practice, tonight will be another opportunity for Hanover lines and goalies to buff up play and tactics before the match up.  It’s game time, Marauders!
