Leb, Saturday Feb. 4th @ 7:00 PM at Campion

The top two teams of NHIAA Girls’ D1 met early in the season’s second half on Saturday evening at Campion…in what, despite the local newspaper hype, was really just another game, as it is likely their paths will cross again in the playoffs.  Both teams brought 9-1-0 NHIAA records to Saturday’s game on their same home ice, having earned long winning streaks…and a tie for first place in the division. There was a huge crowd (largest we’ve seen for any girls’ game) and a pretty good game.

2-3 loss.

A frustrating, but instructional loss to even the season series between two cross-town rivals.  Using just two lines, the Raiders capitalized on turnovers to take the lead over the Marauders in the third, then barely hung on to eek out the victory.  Maddie Dewhirst scored both Marauder goals.  By Oyster River’s win (also 3-2) over Concord, Hanover moves to third place in the standings.
